Anchor Custom Homes was founded in 2007—right before the housing bubble crash. During that difficult time, Anchor Custom Homes not only was able to stay in business, but actually grew. A major factor in our success has been our cautious and stable financial choices. We are cash-based, we are careful not to overreach in our finances, and we work hard to keep our overhead costs very low.

When you work with Anchor Custom Homes, owners John and Annell Bailey personally walk you through each step of the process, from negotiating a contract to sitting with you at the closing table.



John Bailey

Born and raised in Michigan, John has been a business owner since the age of 14. He is a Licensed General Contractor and also holds electrical, plumbing and HVAC licenses. A hands-on person, John is personally involved in every aspect of construction and can be found on the jobsite or reached at any time. As the owner of Anchor Custom Homes, John’s ultimate goal is a happy and fully satisfied home buyer.


Annell Bailey

Annell is a licensed Builder/Sales Executive and co-owner of Anchor Custom Homes. Annell was born and raised in the beautiful island of the Dominican Republic, where her parents own a construction business. Annell came to Greenville to attend Bob Jones University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Financial Management. Her strong building background drew her to pursue her own Unlimited General Contractor License as well. Annell uses her financial expertise to help homebuyers make wise and strong financial moves by always minimizing risk providing client the peace of mind of a financially strong builder, Her Caribbean tastes and design savvy come into play as she helps buyers select the colors and finishes perfect for each home. Despite her strong involvement in her career, Annell describes herself as a proud mom of two beautiful girls.
